de milt severne art

textured, instinctive, and shaped by place

About me

I make abstract paintings on old wooden crates I find on the streets of London. Overlooked objects with grit, texture, and a quiet story to tell. I stretch canvas over their frames and paint directly onto them, letting the shape and surface guide the process. Each piece sits somewhere between painting and object. Raw, layered, and entirely one of a kind.I’m Sophie de Milt Severne. A Franco-British artist and interior designer with a love for things that hold character. What began as a way to use what I had around me has grown into a slower, more intentional practice. It’s rooted in instinct, sustainability, and the idea that art should be lived with, not just looked at.
